Being a desert the air is dry, and here you can see starsets!
Usually only the sun or moon and the planets shine bright enough to be seen all the way to the horizon, but here all the stars seen high in the sky are also equally visible all the way to the horizon. In most other locations the air is full of pollution, dust or clouds.
This is facing west and the setting of the constellation Orion (you can see the belt as a line of stars), just a few metres away from the hotel Tayka del Desierto – the only decent lodging here.
