Azure Gallinule (Porphyrio flavirostris)

Usually well hidden inside dense vegetation where the vocalization is the only sign it’s there.

The oxbow lake at the Amazon Research and conservation Center provides an excellent way to get up close, as the float is only powered by hand, and thus you can slowly and silently glide along the edges of the lake.
