In the waters around the fishing village of Pucusana you’ll encounter many birds of several bird species, and some are used to humans like the brown pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis). They wait for humans to discard fish waste and here they are fighting over it right outside my boat. Me and the camera got saliva and water all over – that’s how close they were.
