There is a short window of opportunity for many of the plant species on Socotra that are most sensitive to the winter rains for growth and blossom. For one this is the time the goats have plenty of grasses, and as such leave a species like Convolvulus sarmentosus alone long enough for it to reach the flowering and fruiting stages.
The very delicate flowers of this species will only be seen when there is sufficient moisture available. In years of drought you will not encounter this one in bloom. Perhaps at best a stunted or withered individual with attempts at producing a flower here and there.
It is endemic to Socotra.
