The growth of this individual is responding to dry conditions where much of the water comes in the form of fog and mist during the southwestern monsoon of the summer. It is the densest form of I have so far encountered of the species.
Euphorbia spiralis is found throughout Socotra and with great many variations, from very long stems growing far apart with few branches to very large individuals with many branches. On rare occasions the stem is growing in a spiralling fashion, hence the name. But this form I have yet to encounter.
Elevation: 436 meters.
It is endemic to Socotra.
