During my stay in Chopta I encountered an amazing array of animal species in biomes ranging from alpine to dense forest slopes and valleys and farms. Each with unique flora and fauna.
The landscape is dramatic and in many of the steepest slopes there are deep scars from past monsoons. Some places it seemed something had scooped off a portion of the mountain side. It is similar to that of the villages of western Norway, where towns sometimes are cut of for weeks due to avalanches, mud or rock slides.
In April, at the end of dry season, all this is but a distant memory, as the sky is mostly clear, the sun is pleasant and the animals are living their lives, for me to enjoy. This grey bush chat was briefly perched here after it successfully caught this moth, as the clouds begun to release some rain.
