Southern warthog (Phacochoerus africanus ssp. sundevallii) is a common resident in Okavango. To me a funny looking creature that reminds me of dodgems, or bumper cars, when their tail is raised during their escapes. They live a precarious life as they’re prey to lion, cheetah and leopard.
This one is checking out elephant dung at a waterhole inundated with parched elephants. Four panting oxpeckers on its back are looking for opportunities in the form of blood from the elephants or other parched visitors, or the insects pestering them.
